Hello,

I wanted to start with a big thank you for following along and for all your support and love. None of it will be here without the love from everyone, local and far.

My name is Feben and I am the maker and owner of FabyCo.

A little bit about myself, I started out my career in IT, Network Administrator for over 10 years, in NYC. I lived most of my life in New York City, but I was born and raised in Ethiopia.

When I got married I moved to Hawaii and had my son in Honolulu before moving to Savannah, GA. After about 4 years in GA, we moved to North Carolina until finally settling down in San Luis Obispo, CA where I currently live.

After my son was born, I became a stay-at-home mom for a few years. With the up and downs of staying home with a baby and the moves, I decided to carve a space for myself instead of going back to corporate to get back in the IT world, I decided to start my own business.

I was always into fashion and going to school to learn how to make clothing felt right the natural and the best move. I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to study under a master tailor in Savannah GA and specialized in making children’s clothing.

After a few years, I changed gears and started making women’s clothing and accessories. I now do mostly leather work.

I enjoy the entire process of my work, from sourcing the leather, to individually creating each piece by hand, hence each piece is unique.
